The Samsung Galaxy S22 Ultra has been here for almost half a year. There have recently been
rumors about Samsung launching a new color for the smallest smartphone in the series. The
new color has just been revealed.
Pictures of the new, purple-colored Galaxy S22 Ultra have been revealed by a third-party
source. The source has also mentioned that all the three device classes in the series will be
getting a Bora Purple color. This new color is similar to the purple Galaxy S21 that the tech giant
released last year. Reports suggest there will be significant variations between the models.
While the 2021 model had a gold frame all around the camera lenses, the current one is
entirely purple, right down to the rail.
The S22 and S22 Plus are already made available in a few markets in a Violet color. The new
pictures suggest that the new color is slightly different. While images of S22 Ultra have been
revealed, there is no confirmation whether other versions will also get the new color or not.
Overall Story of the Galaxy S22 Shade
The overall colors on the S22 have been slightly lighter compared to the previous models. The
intensity of the colors has more or less moved closer to periwinkle/lavender than the darker
heather shades in the past year.
According to reports, the new color will be available on S22 versions within the next two weeks.
However, there is no news about the markets where it will be available.
Samsung’s Break from its Tradition
It is interesting to note the deviation that Samsung has taken in its choice of colors for its
flagship smartphones in the past. A few years ago, consumers could choose only between black
and white colors.
The new purple version is the 6th color choice in the S22 stable and the 4th for the S22 Ultra
series. There is no confirmation whether there will be a wider launch across the product
portfolio or not.
The Bora purple color has a striking resemblance to the Purple Galaxy S20+ BTS edition from
the year 2020. Reports also suggest that the new purple color scheme can also transcend the
Galaxy Z Fold4, Galaxy Buds 2 Pro, and Z Flip4.
Currently, the following color schemes are available on the different Galaxy S22 series:
Galaxy S22: Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, Pink Gold, Cream, Graphite, Violet,
and Sky Blue.
Galaxy S22 Plus: Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, Pink Gold, Cream, Graphite,
Violet, and Sky Blue.
Galaxy S22 Ultra: Phantom Black, Phantom White, Green, Burgundy, Graphite, Red, and
Sky Blue.
Samsung Galaxy fans will not have to wait long to grab their favorite flagship phone in a new
popping color.
